There had been so many deaths, Sara could not remember them all. Perhaps that was why she returned everyday to the Remembrance Wall, so she could remember all those that had died in defending their city. Her friends' names were etched in the stone. Her comrades-in-arms would never be truly forgotten, for there were plaques scattered throughout the memorial that told the tale of what happened one hundred years ago. On one of those plaques were the names of those that held special positions throughout the war. One of them was Raven, one of Sara's dearest friends that had died in that last battle at Bara's hand and familiar. A Black Dragon who had been orphaned, he had met another friend and they had both arrived at the city together. The first two that Sara ever met.
"So many had died," Sara said aloud. "All because of Bara and Hadrian."

"Now who is this 'Bara and Hadrian'?" a voice sounded. It was arrogent and self-assured, and seemingly came from a young male. From the shadows the oddly clothed man stepped. His eyes had a piercing gaze, and his left side held a sheath holding a weapon. He stepped out across the shadows, and went to stand quite near to the lady he addressed. He turned towards the wall, and his eyes flitted across the names. It seemed to depict the names of people who died. Presumably at the hand of Bara and Hadrian? He didn't really know.
He also didn't know if he really cared. What he did care about was the beautiful woman he had just encountered. She was an image of beauty, and the vampire was instantly entranced. He smiled a charming smile while he waited for his answer.

"Bara was a female Vampire who was matron of the once Vampire clan a hundred years ago," Sara explained. "Hadrian was a god, the god of blood and of Vampires. Not all Vampires worshiped him. I say was a god because Hadrian was made mortal and killed; quite like how Bara was killed."
The one who had appeared out of the shadows had the magical aura of a Vampire, and had a slight air of arrogance. Sara placed a hand on the one scimitar that she always carried with her that was the twin of the other that Serenity had given her. Carrying a weapon was more of a security blanket from days long past.

"A vampire huh..." he murmured, staring at the wall for a little while longer. Then he turned to the woman. His eyes looked her up and down. She was a very beautiful lady, and he liked her already. He had met many woman and girls on his travels across the world. Many of them were quite dirty. Others were pretty and decent. This girl...woman...looked quite a lot more mature than anything else he had encountered. She didnt' feel like a vampire however. Which made her that much more intruguing. What had he encountered in this silent city?
"May you grace me with your name?" he asked. He bowed slightly. He knew it was corny and arrogent.
But he didn't care.

"Sara, Goddess of Wyld Nites. And yours?"
She held back the glare that would have told him that she didn't care for his bow that seemed to be filled with arrogance. She knew that there would be those like this Vampire who will come and go through the city, and all Sara had to do was to put up with it for the time being; she'll see their end one way or another.

"A goddess?" He was genuinly surprised. He had never encountered anything like a goddess before. This was something completely different, and he was quite completely speechless. A goddess. Just walking around a city, enjoying the walls. This was strange.
Indeed.
Finally, he snapped out of his reverie, and spoke.
"Well, pleased to make your acquaintaince, my lady." he said. "So you are the goddess of this city? Interesting." he said.

"Yes, goddess. I guard and protect those that love within the city. You, I at least know are a Vampire."
There was something odd about him, though. He did not smell like he was born a Vampire; more like he was bitten. Having spent time with many Vampires, Sara had learned much about how they lived and how to tell the difference between natural born and bitten Vampires. This one was the latter.

"Perceptive indeed." he said. "I am a Vampire. And a particiular handsome one at that." He winked, and then turned away, his gaze falling on the wall again. He studied the names for a moment. "Why do I smell such...death in this place? Was there a war or somethin' here?"

"A hundred years ago. I would like to know your name so I don't keep calling you a Vampire; true enough as that might be."
It was still a touchy subject for Sara, but she has worked on separating her own personal feelings from the history lessons she had given to all those who moved into the city that have realized that something must have happened all those years ago.

"Why...how rude of me!" Aron exclaimed as he turned back to the goddess. He bowed slightly, and announced his name. "I am Aron." he said. "Vampire, and aircon installer, at your service."

"Welcome to Wyld Nites, Aron," Sara said, accepting the slight bow with a head nod. "What is it that you want to know? I've already told you that there was a war a hundred years ago within this very city."

"What fun stuff is there to do in this town?" Aron asked, looking around, searching through the trees and buildings for some sign of light, or something that could show a good time.

"Well. We got a couple of bars, with one that doubles as a brothel type business, a mall, cinema, and a park," Sara listed off. She had overseen the construction, or re-construction depending on the building, of many of the buildings that now stood. "Though I don't know your definition of fun, so it's really up to you on how you view those places."

"Hmmm." he murmured. "I see..." His voice was low for a moment. He turned towards the city again, and looked across the visible buildings.

"Is there anything else you wish to know?"
Sara moved from the plaque and moved to the nearest section of wall, acting like she was reading the names that were etched there. Dear friends and comrades she will never see again. Why did Hadrian and Bara do this to the city?
Why...
