Riku glared at the cat. "I am not attracted to her," he said with finality.
Meian laughed which sounded almost like a caw. "We believe you, Riku." The way he said it made it sound like the complete opposite.
"I'm not! Stop making it sound like we're a couple!" He snapped at his familiar. "She's a half-breed!" Silence. Damn...he was one too now. "She's a half-vampire!" More silence. He's supposed to be a protector of vampires since his dad was. "Shut up." Riku finally gave up, leaning back against the coffin.
Meian decided to change the conversation just in case Riku's emotions fueled his powers. "So she should be awake by noon and we're heading out to meet her parents tonight?" He went over, just to make sure everything was set.

"That's the plan," Hades nodded. "Now, if you excuse me I must tend to her customers. They should be arriving within the hour."
With that Hades trotted out of the room and down to the shop. Thankfully Natayla had pre-made potions of various kinds and no one minded being served by a cat. The hours rolled by, customers fading in and out of the shop. The majority were high school girls looking for a love potion.
Before Hades knew it it was noon and just as he predicted Natayla woke. The lid of her coffin flung open and she sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. In her grogginess she didn't notice Riku standing there. She sauntered over to her vanity and brushed the tangles from her hair and opening a drawer retrieved a long midnight blue dress that would fit her snugly.
She walked to behind a dressing screen and changed quickly. And when she stepped back out she finally saw Riku and all the blood in her body rushed to her face. "Ah- um... H-hi..."

Riku watched her get out of the coffin, slightly surprised that the cat was right. He was even more surprised that she didn't notice him until she apologized. "It's fine," he said, mentally rolling his eyes. "I talked to your parents. We're heading over there tonight," he explained, keeping it as brief as possible.
Meian shook his head. "To have a meeting," the raven continued since Riku didn't really explained much. "Your father plans to introduce Riku to the coven leader." Riku just nodded in agreement.

Natayla's eyes widened fractionally. That was surprising, he has spoken to her parents and they agreed to get an audience with the coven leader instead of promising to kill him for being in her room? Riku really was extraordinary.
"That's impressive," Natayla said, walking back to her vanity to brush her hair once more. "Although considering you are the son of Hades I can't really see my father threatening to hunt you down and hang you by your entrails."
Natayla checked herself in the mirror, parting her bangs so that one eye was covered and making sure the dress fit right. "You can make yourself at home until the sunsets," she offered as she walked out of her room.
As Natayla walked down stairs she heard Hades suggesting potions to an awkward looking boy with glasses. "I think Amourous would be best for him."
The rest of the day passed like this. Every once in a while someone would come in not asking for an aid in their love lives, which made Natayla quite happy. Soon enough the sun was beginning to set and Natayla set out a sign that said 'Closed due to emergency' and walked back upstairs carrying Hades.
"Ready to go?" she asked Riku, grabbing a black umbrella with cherry blossoms painted on it.

During the day, Riku had went back to his place, picking up the rest of his weapons. He also changed into his usual hunting attire, since it was more comfortable and in all honesty, he expected a fight. He went back to Natayla's place and wasted the day away, reading random books that caught his eye. As she walked in, he put another book down and sheathed his sword across his back. It was a bit too long to be carrying at the hip. "Yeah, all set," he answered. "Lead the way," he said, giving a mock gesture and a smirk as they left.

Natayla smiled and lead Riku out of her home/shop and down the street. As soon as she stepped outside she opened the umbrella and pointed it towards the setting sun. Although she was healed for the next week or so she would be extremely sensitive to sunlight, she even went so far as to put on black leggings and gloves before they departed.
"We're in for a bit of a walk," Natayla said to Riku. Hades was currently resting across her shoulders, kneaded his paws into her flesh.
True to her word the walk took quite a while. It was almost 11 before they reached a rather large looking home over run by ivy, flowers, herbs and all sorts of flora.
"This is it," Natayla said, a bit nervously. "Let me do the talking first."
With a quick rap on the door it swung open and Natayla was nearly tackled to the ground with the aggressive hug her father gave her. He squeezed his daughter with all his might, threatening to crush her.
"Oh my sweet, innocent, loving daughter!" he said grandly, swinging her around as if she were a rag doll. "I've missed my little girl soooo much!"
"Welcome to our home," Nina said much more calmly to Riku as Natayla tried to pry herself from her fathers arms.
The only thing that could make the moment even cheesier was if little hearts started to appear around Derek.

Riku raised a thin silver eyebrow but bowed his head. "Thank you," he said, being polite. He sent a small smirk to Natayla, knowing she could tell from his expression. Nice, daddy's girl. He knew she would probably yell at him later but he didn't care. "I'm grateful for this, Nina," he said to Natayla's mother. "I understand it must be difficult in getting the coven's favour," he added.

Natayla registered the look on Riku's face but couldn't yell at him because her father was currently crushing the life out of her. As he nuzzled her head she got enough room to gasp 'air!' and he instantly backed off.
"Oh daddies sorry sweety," he said apologetically, patting and brushing her hair. "Let daddy make it up to you."
"No daddy," Natayla breathed heavily. "It's fine."
While Derek got Natayla inside Nina was already serving Riku tea and had him sit down on the extremely comfortable black couch.
"It will be difficult," Nina agreed, opening a bottle of AB- for her husband and heating it with a small ball of fire and doing the same for Natayla but with O+. "But it is nothing we can't handle. And you being the son of Hades will make things far easier."
"I would still like to know your intentions," Derek said as he sat down on the blood red armchair across from Riku while Natayla took a seat beside the assassin. The vampire registered this but kept his desire to rip out Riku's organs at bay.
"That doesn't really matter dear," Nina said, patting her husbands hand. "Right now we need to get the invitation. It would be easier of Natayla was willing to-"
"No way!" Natayla said making an X with her arms, knowing what her mother was thinking. "I am not spending any time alone with that creep!"

Riku sat back in the chair, looking Natayla over a bit. "My intentions are friendly, I assure you. I thought the vampire community would like to be aware of who is in their city." He looked over at Natayla. She probably didn't like this guy and it would be hard to force her to do something she didn't want to. But he wasn't a son of Hades for nothing.
"Natayla, if you don't want to then you should not be forced. You probably won't agree with your parents and I refuse to use my powers like that," he reasoned. "Derek...I'd like you to try to call a meeting...and mention to them that my father will be present as well," he said, a slight smirk on his face.

Derek nodded stiffly, misreading Riku's body language. "I shall. But please refrain from giving my little girl the once over, you may be the son of Hades bu-"
"Stop that," Nina said sternly, hitting Derek in the head with a frying pan which had magically appeared in her hands. "Riku is our guest and he wasn't thinking that."
Natayla blushed darkly and cleared her throat. She leaned over and whispered to Riku. "Sorry about my dad.... he's kinda nuts."
After scolding Derek some Nina turned her attentions back to Riku and Natayla. "Now that Derek will mention your father the coven will undoubtedly come to a meeting. They will most likely hold it in the coven. It'll be easier that way in any case." she fell silent for a moment. "But, Natayla, if we call a meeting your pressence will be required as it was you who found Riku and I cannot guarantee that a conflict will not occur."
Natayla nodded. "I understand."
With that Derek stood and walked out of the room and down into the cellar. He was clearly miffed, but did as he was asked.
"While we wait would you to like anything?" Nina asked with a bright smile. "Sweets? Another drink?"

Riku held up a hand. "No, I'm fine," he said, knowing it was a good thing to be polite to someone's parents, regardless of who they are. He leaned over to Natayla. "At least your dad doesn't want to drag your ass into hell," he said, smirking at her. "And uh...I really hope he doesn't kill me. It's bad enough I have to call my father up here but if I'm sent down there he won't be very happy," he added, knowing Hades might unleash Cerberus and a whole group of demons on the vampires that killed his son. He felt Meian flying in the air in the sky, enjoying the freedom from the city. For some reason, Riku felt at ease here. It was probably from the connection he had with the vampires that everything seemed to feel so natural.

Nina nodded with a smile. "I'll leave you too then."
It was a good thing Nina left when she did because if she heard the giggle that came from her daughter she would have hopped onto the couch and strangled Riku until his eyes came out of their sockets.
"Don't worry," Natayla laughed. "my dad may be over protective but he knows what'll happen if he kills the son of Hades. The one you should really be looking out for is my mom. She is far less obvious but if she suspects you of anything she can do things a thousand times worse than any vampire. It's a good thing she thinks before she acts though."
Hades, the cat, was currently laying behind them on the couch. He was very tempted to scratch the back of Riku's head and bite him, but refrained from doing so.
"But when we go to the meeting... are you really intending to just make them acknowledge your existence? For some reason I think you've got something bigger planned."

Riku leaned back on the chair, putting his hands behind his head. "Really? Whatever gave you that idea?" He asked with mock innocence.
He paused and thought about it. "Ok, that was fake," he admitted with a shrug. "But if my dear old dad if involved, then I guess you have a right to be a bit suspicious. It's nothing bad," he added, so she wouldn't panic. "I mean, I've only been hunting vampires for half of my short life, what makes you think I'm nervous," he said with a half-hearted laugh. He sighed, sitting forward again. "I'm just worried something will go wrong. I can...feel it. Something is happening and it either has something to do with the vampires...or it will in the future," he said, looking over at Natayla.

Natayla looked at him with her golden eyes. She didn't want him to be nervous about the meeting, even though she was. There was defiantly stirring in the air. She thought for a moment and then said.
"The old leader should be getting ready to pass on his legacy in the next few years." that thought chilled her to the bone. She knew who the next ruler would be and unless he found a mate before that day she might be forced to marry the deranged vampire. "...But that's probably not it..."
There was a notable pause and then she thought of something that might help Riku. "If the vampires see that you've been trying to make amends for you years of hunting. Even if you don't really mean it they wont be able to tell," a blush crept onto her cheeks and she looked down at her hands. "M-maybe if you let me... feed off of you... T-they'd see the bites and I'd tell them it was consequential."

Riku blushed a bit as well but not as much. "W-well...if you think that would help then...I guess it would be fine," he said, although somewhat hesitantly. He knew it would be the best thing to do, to prove he wasn't on the side of the hunters anymore. As a son of Hades, he really didn't want to be on the vampires' bad side, especially considering what he might do to them in self-defense. However, another thought crossed his mind...was his blood really that good? He sighed, unzipping the hoody he was wearing and brushing his silver hair back. "Go ahead," he said to her, tilting his head back only slightly.
